Amy Macdonald releases the new EP “Don’t Tell Me That It’s Over”. The new collection of fan favourites is unveiled with today’s release of the title track. The EP has been reinterpreted with the energy of her live performances in mind. “Don’t Tell Me That It’s Over” is released ahead of a major summer of touring. In addition to the 3.3 million people Amy has performed in front of so far in her career, a large audience is being added.

The title track, “Don’t Tell Me That It’s Over”, shows how much Amy’s voice has matured since the original version was released in 2010. The less elaborate but far rougher production adds a new, powerful punch to the driving pop-rock melodies. This new update of “Don’t Tell Me That It’s Over” strikes the perfect balance between haunting melodies and assaultive bite. As the first release from A Curious Thing, the single was originally considered a rockier evolution of her folk roots.

Amy says, “After years of playing these songs live, my band and I decided to reinterpret the music a bit, breathe new life into them and musically align them with some of the tracks on my latest album. The result is a really exciting and modern vibe, and when we took the songs on tour and played them in front of audiences they went down great, so we decided to put them on a record and share them with the world – hence this EP!”

And ultimately, a particular song by the British band Travis, entitled “Turn”, is “to blame” for this fabulous career: when Amy Macdonald heard it for the first time at a concert in 2000, the then 12-year-old decided to teach herself how to play the guitar; originally only so that she could intonate this song herself.
