The International Competition of Polish Music provides an extraordinary opportunity to immerse oneself in the oeuvre of Polish composers. The task the participants face may seem breakneck—the pieces presented during the auditions are often at the margin of the concert repertoire, and sometimes they are completely unknown. Therefore, participation in the competition requires performers to prepare a completely new programme and to dis- cover works that do not exist in the common consciousness of music lovers or even professional musicians. Moreover, playing only Polish music may seem a… boring task. Is it actually so?
