Morrison s previous band Them had been hemorrhaging luck and leaking interest after previously riding high on the charts with the smash hit single Baby Please Don t Go. But Them s fame had been as fleeting as Morrison s enjoyment of it and when word leaked out that he was looking for a label to record solo material on, Berns leaped at the opportunity to have Morrison record for the fledgling Bang label.
