Crying is the third album by Roy Orbison, released in 1962. It was his second album on the Monument Record label. The album name comes from the 1961 hit song of the same name that would be the first of Orbison’s five Chart-topping singles in Australia. In 2002 the song was honored with a Grammy Hall of Fame Award, and In 2004, it ranked #69 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.

There have been countless ROY ORBISON compilations over the years, but all too often overdubbed or stereo versions are used, which possess neither the presence nor the bite of his original mono 45rpm versions.
Indeed, the best way to listen to Roy is to hear those original singles in glorious, pristine mono, sounding exactly as they did when you bought them all those decades ago.
This compilation presents his first seventeen singles, released between 1956-62, on Je-Wel, Sun, RCA Victor and Monument, with one omission; the first, non-hit version of ‘Ooby Dooby’ (NB: his Sun re-recording, which is included, was his first hit).
Also included are his early million sellers ‘Only The Lonely’, ‘Blue Angel’, ‘Runnin’ Scared’, ‘Cryin”, and ‘Dream Baby’.
This is an intriguing body of work, and it is interesting to compare his very early 45s with the ten peerless singles herein, which he cut for Monument.

Ça Ira (French for “It will be all right”, subtitled “There is Hope”) is an opera by Roger Waters. It comes in three acts and is a concept album. The album is based on the French libretto co-written by Étienne and Nadine Roda-Gil on the historical subject of the early French Revolution. Ça Ira was released 26 September 2005, as a double CD album featuring baritone Bryn Terfel, soprano Ying Huang, and tenor Paul Groves. The album received mixed reviews, with critics praising the composition but criticising its plot and simplicity.
