Una donna per amico (A woman as friend) is an album by the Italian singer and songwriter Lucio Battisti. It was released in December 1978 by Numero Uno. The album was Italy’s fourth best-selling album in 1978. It appears at 3rd place in the 100 greatest Italian albums of all time list published in 2012 by Italian edition of Rolling Stone magazine.

Recording in England for the first time, with producer Geoff Westley and British session pros, Battisti adopts the burgeoning new wave/pop sounds of the day for an album dominated by pulsating bass, synthesizers, and electronic drums. Mogol’s lyrics, on the other hand, appear closer to the romantic musings of their early-’70s classics than they had been in years, dealing exclusively with relationships and everyday situations in his trademark conversational style. Featuring several late Battisti-Mogol standards, such as the title track and “Aver Paura D’innamorarsi Troppo,” Una Donna per Amico became the most successful album of Battisti’s career.
