The 1984 Falco album “Junge Roemer”, for a long time by far the most expensive record ever produced in Austria, in a visually redesigned “Helnwein Edition”. Instead of a dinner jacket, Falco now wears a leather jacket. In addition, there are liner notes by Helnwein himself and further, previously unpublished photos. In honour of the quite provocative artist Helnwein, who celebrates his 75th birthday in October 2023 and has cultivated a special friendly closeness to Falco.

How easy Falco could have made it for himself after the success of his debut album Einzelhaft – the formula for success (modern pop and rock music with critically witty lyrics in German, presented by a young, charismatic artist with the claim of wanting to be a star and not just a songwriter) had been found, with Robert Ponger Falco had a producer and songwriter in personal union and nothing spoke against using the proven formula again on the next album. But Falco wanted more: his second album should be more international, more polished, more polished and more demanding than the first album. Not only was it to be a counter-design and at the same time a frontal attack on the gregarious authenticity terror of Austropop, after the worldwide success of Der Kommissar Falco also wanted to get closer to the global market with this album, the lyrics are therefore clearly more multilingual on the follow-up album. …
