Five of the best brass players in the world united in a chamber music ensemble: The Reinhold Friedrich Brass Quintett was founded in 2022 and presents its first CD, UNITY.

For this lifelong dream of a brass quintet, Reinhold Friedrich, world star of the trumpet, has brought together the best players in their respective fields, who not only get on extremely well musically, but also on a personal level. In their playing, you can sense the mutual appreciation and joy of making music, coupled with their unique technical and musical skills and chamber music experience, which enables the musicians to merge into a single unit.

People from different European countries unite in this top-class quintet: the Belgian Jeroen Berwaerts is a sought-after soloist as former principal trumpeter of the NDR Symphony Orchestra and teaches at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. The Dane Lasse Mauritzen, knighted in the Order of Dannebrog by Queen Margarethe II, is first principal horn of the Danish Radio Copenhagen (DRSO). The Brit Ian Bousfield now lives in Switzerland and knows the stages of the world as a former solo trombonist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and as a soloist and conductor. The Norwegian Thomas Røisland, who lives in Sweden and is principal tuba in the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra Copenhagen (DRSO) and other renowned European orchestras, forms the foundation.

The five musicians are united by their desire to set new standards in brass chamber music for their audience and to present premiere recordings and commission arrangements of classics that have not yet been recorded at world-class level.
