Robbie Fulks’s adventurous spirit has defined a critically acclaimed 30-year career that has included 15 solo albums and two GRAMMY® nominations. Lightning Dreamers is new work by composer, trumpeter, interdisciplinary abstractivist and modern music mogul Rob Mazurek, who wrote the music for a compacted version of his long-running Exploding Star Orchestra. A follow-up to the acclaimed 2020 Mazurek/ESO release Dimensional Stardust, the album features guitarist Jeff Parker, vocalist Damon Locks, drummer Gerald Cleaver, and pianists Angelica Sanchez and Craig Taborn, among others. It was recorded mostly at the remote Sonic Ranch studios in West Texas, not far from Mazurek’s current home in Marfa, in the days leading up to a debut of the music at Trans Pecos festival in September 2021. Mixing and post-production was headed by Dave Vettraino from IARC studios in Chicago across 2022.

Graham Dean is essentially a painter of identity. But more than the identity of the body, it is the identity of the soul that he evokes in his sumptuous watercolours. He was also a pioneer in early video technology. He shot his second film to be funded by the Arts Council ‘Undercurrents’ on 16mm film, featuring a series of images and live action footage which were then manipulated. The film was first exhibited in 1981 and is soundtracked by a 14 minute instrumental piece, written and recorded by Peter. The ‘Undercurrents’ music was previously unreleased until last year when it was newly mixed for inclusion in Graham Dean’s Strange Beauty book.

And I Love You So was Perry Como’s 21st 12″ long-play album released by RCA Records.
As with It’s Impossible, this album was issued to feature a surprise hit single, Don McLean’s “And I Love You So”. Como brought the song to the national top 40 (Number One Easy Listening). Previous versions of the song by Bobby Goldsboro and Bobby Vinton had met with mild or no success. Como’s version was so successful, RCA asked him to record the song in Spanish. When Como said he didn’t speak the language, he received personal Spanish lessons from the head of RCA International to get the record made. As in recent Como LP’s, this collection features selections from then contemporary recording artists such as Roberta Flack, The Carpenters, Ray Price, Tony Orlando and Dawn, Bread and Mac Davis. The album was among the last to be produced by Chet Atkins before he stepped down from his executive position at RCA’s Nashville studios.
