On Paint America Love, Lou collaborated with Twyla “The Gipsy” Herbert and Bubblegum maestro Tony Romeo to provide a lush, near-definitive statement of American Pop… a must-have for anyone who has a heart! You know, 1971 might just be THE top pop year. A lot of people would probably go for 1966 or ’67 or even ’77 as the ultimate vintage year for Rock and Pop but today we’re sticking with 1971. 1971 brought US many classics: Carole King’s Tapestry, David Bowie’s Hunky Dory, Sly & the Family Stone’s There’s a Riot Goin’ On, Serge Gainsbourg’s Histoire de Melody Nelson, Paul McCartney’s Ram, Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On, the Beach Boys’ Surf’s Up and Runt, the Ballad of Todd Rundgren. But way up near the top of that pile of mighty classics born in 1971 is an album that has almost been forgotten about by one of pop’s great overlooked giants. Here at last on CD for the first time is Lou Christie Sacco’s majestic Paint America Love.

City Noir is a symphony inspired by the peculiar ambience and mood of Los Angeles ‘noir’ films, especially those produced in the late forties and early fifties. My music is an homage not necessarily to the film music of that period but rather to the overall aesthetic of the era. This symphony becomes the third in a triptych of orchestral works that have as their theme the California experience, its landscape and its culture. The two previous are The Dharma at Big Sur (also commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic) and El Dorado (commissioned by the San Francisco Symphony). City Noir was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic in association with the London Symphony Orchestra, Cité de la Musique and ZaterdagMatinee.

Lorenzo Feliciati and Dominique Vantomme met for the first time in Brussels where both of them lived for a couple of years.

Ever since their first interaction, the chemistry between the counterparts were established, music spoke to them in different tongues, more than words, furthermore their friendship grew with their ongoing recording sessions that they were involved in, which took place in Jet Studio-Bruxelles which is managed/operated by Rudy Coclet.

“Fake” is the result of this wonderful veteran collaboration. Adding magical touches to this project are Cuong Vu, Eraldo Bernocchi and DJ skizo.

Born in 1982, Lorenzo Cossi graduated in Trieste Conservatory “G. Tartini” with Giuliana Gulli, sister of the great violinist Franco Gulli. He continued studying with Giuliana Gulli and with Nino Gardi, following also masterclasses by great musicians, such as Joachim Achùcarro in Siena, Elisso Virsaladze (Sermoneta, Italy), William Grant Naborè (Lake Como International Piano Academy) and Jerome Lowenthal (Music Academy of the West, California). As a chamber music lover, Lorenzo plays often in chamber music recitals with cellist Marianna Sinagra. He won several prizes in international competitions, such as the “Rina Sala Gallo” in Monza, the “L. Gante” in Pordenone, the „Maria Canals“ in Barcelona and others. For two editions he has been finalist in the “F. Busoni” competition in Bolzano. Recently he was one of the five finalist at the prestigious “E. Honens” International Competition in Calgary, Canada, where he could play with great musicians, such as the cellist Johannes Moser. Since 2018 Lorenzo Cossi has a piano masterclass at the Conservatory Klagenfurt.

The program is brought up to date with a dream-like piece by contemporary Russian composer Lera Auerbach.

Lola Descours is partnered in this recital by pianist Paloma Koulder, with whom she has made several of the arrangements heard on the album.

And now again, after tremendous Angherr Shisspa, the incredible band Koenjihyakkei release another masterpiece which is called to become very soon a new zeuhl classic and – with some time – a prog classic.

This is objectively their best album, they never did something with such maturity all the track are so full of ideas, compositions are so dense and rich like if they were each one independant universe on the Dhorimviskha galaxy. The way they mix zeuhl and brutal prog elements with some more classic jazz fusion and prog elements show that Koenji overcome the influences and his kink to create something brand new, this is maybe the “the shape of zeuhl to come album”.

Are we now entering in the post-zeuhl movement with the great Dhorimviskha?

Oh, and just a thought, I just can’t imagine what’ll be their future album. Please Koenji take another decade if you can make another album as much great as this one.

KISS’s fifth authorised Soundboard live release is from the November 28, 1984 Animalize Tour show from the Mid-Hudson Civic Arena in Poughkeepsie, NY, featuring the only known soundboard recording with Mark St. John. ‘Young and Wasted’ and ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ are unfortunately incomplete recordings but due to the historical importance of this show with Mark we hope you all rock out to this as hard as we have.
