The album “Free at Three” was recorded in the spring of 2020 in just one session at the Orange Studio Moscow and is an example of a motley fusion with elements of bossanova and folk. The musicians of the RIG are somewhat sly, calling themselves a completely improvisational line — up-to keep the structure, rhythm and passion, they think through the logical structure of their compositions, writing all the sequences in the score. However, this does not prevent them from creating formidable post-jazz action films and, processing their sound through lotions and electronics, easily enter the territories of drone and noise, and sometimes even daring glitch. In addition, in” Free at Three ” there are real revelations when violist Alina Petrova suddenly begins to sing vocalises, her voice is echoed by the melodic sax of Khramtsevich, and the resulting folk sketch is aesthetically colored by the unrestrained rhythm section of Shutikov and Grigorieva.

“‘Cyr’ is dystopic folly,” Corgan said in a statement, “one soul against the world sort of stuff, set against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and sped up time. To me it stands as both hopeful and dismissive of what is and isn’t possible with faith.”
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS have also announced “In Ashes”, a five-part animated series written by Corgan, featuring new songs from “Cyr”. Episodes one and two — “As The Crow Flies” and “Inspirations, Aspirations” — will arrive on September 25.

With 2015’s ‘White Water’ and the following year’s ‘Dream Darling’ The Slow Show established themselves as a band who inhabit their own universe. There are antecedents – the exploratory beauty of Talk Talk, the ability to frame a story like Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, The Blue Nile’s determination not to waste a single note. Originally filmed in December 1968, “The Rock and Roll Circus” was originally intended to be released as a television special. The special was filmed over two nights and featured not only the Rolling Stones but The Who, Jethro Tull (with future Black Sabbath guitarist Tommy Iommi filling in for the recently departed Mick Abrahams), Marianne Faithful and an all-star jam featuring John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Micthell. Sadly, this also marked the final appearance of the Stones founder and original guiding light, Brian Jones, who would be dead within six months after filming the special.
The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus has received a 4K Dolby Vision restoration of the concert film on Blu-Ray.
