“Anima Aeterna”, an adventurous album consisting of Arias and motets from the 18th century, follows the spirit of the debut” Anima Sacra”, which in 2018 announced Jakub Józef orliński not only as a” voice with a great future ” (gramophone), but also a discoverer of new works. This time orliński again collaborated with the versatile musician and musicologist Yannis François. As a result, the repertoire includes several world premieres.

“This album is not so much about the religious side of the songs, but about the emotions contained in them” – continues Orliński – ” and about the different instruments and voices that they present. You can find compositions with completely different orchestrations-with solo trumpet, violin, bassoon, cello, organ and Viola di bordone. There is also a full motet with choir and soprano. Orliński feels that ” the tones and colours heard in the sacred music of the Baroque era touch human souls to this day. “Anima Aeterna “means” eternal soul, ” which to me means nature… something so vital, wild and dangerous, yet so peaceful, mesmerizing and healing.”

The artist is accompanied by Il Pomo d’oro orchestra and choir conducted by Francesco Corti.
