This album is the result of an extraordinary adventure of self-development that began when the pianist Aldo Ciccolini offered Genny Basso to move to his house in Paris and be his personal assistant at international master classes. Much of Basso’s current playing style has evolved from this experience, which has deeply influenced the way he feels and perceives interpretation. In the years that followed, Genny Basso had the privilege of listening to Ciccolini every day, trying to discover his secrets, taking his suggestions, listening to and commenting on music with him. And thanks to him Basso probably learned his most important lesson: making music is not narcissism, but full of love and sincerity. Geneviève Leclerc a été découverte de tous lors d’une des dernières saisons de La Voix. La chanteuse a l’authenticité chavirante avait malheureusement dû céder sa place à Travis Cormier pour la finale, n’ayant accumulé de 49% des votes du public.
Depuis, la chanteuse fait son petit bonhomme de chemin, multipliant les prestations pour sa tournée «Avec le temps». Elle décrit cette dernière comme suit:«Entre show intimiste et théâtre musical, d’où est issue Geneviève, le défi est lancé pour narrer musicalement cette histoire vibrante et passionnante. Bien que professionnellement tout aille sur des roulettes, il y a un projet qu’elle et sa conjointe n’ont pas encore pu accomplir: une famille. En entrevue avec le Journal de Montréal, la chanteuse a confié souhaiter très fort fonder une famille avec sa conjointe des onze dernières années, Georgina, dès la prochaine année! / Geneviève Leclerc was discovered by everyone during one of the last seasons of The Voice. The singer has the captivating authenticity had unfortunately had to give up her place to Travis Cormier for the final, having accumulated 49% of the votes of the public.
Since then, the singer has been making her way through the world, multiplying the performances for her “with time” Tour. She describes the latter as follows:”between intimate show and musical theatre, where Geneviève comes from, the challenge is launched to narrate musically this vibrant and exciting story. Although everything goes on professionally, there is one project that she and her spouse have not yet been able to accomplish: a family. In an interview with the Journal de Montréal, the singer confided in wishing very much to found a family with her spouse of the last eleven years, Georgina, as early as next year!

It’s perfectly possible that fans of Baroque violin music will both have listened to a lot of Corelli in their time, and read a fair few sleeve notes on the subject of the truly international success his works enjoyed in their day. Still, three cheers for these Australian champions of his Opus 6 set of Concerti grossi – Corelli’s only set of orchestral music, over which a small group of soloists is pitted against a larger ensemble – with their non-Europe-centric perspective, because the engaging sleeve notes to this recording don’t simply remind us that even in the eighteenth century his works were circulating as far from his native Italy as North and South America, Syria, India, China and Sumatra, but also that by the early 19th century they were even turning up in Australia. The first documentary evidence is a Corelli “Solo” played in Sydney in 1826.
