The Slovak trio AMC presents their new album “Following The Light” with Randy Brecker and creates an original, genre-spanning sound with their compositions beyond traditional jazz. Influenced by their roots, the album tells its own musical stories with soulful melodies and remains true to the unmistakable style of the trio.
The trio has existed for about 20 years and has developed its own musical language over time. Influenced by their Slovak roots, they combine the influences of their homeland with contemporary jazz. The trio, consisting of the pianist Peter Adamkovi?, the bassist Martin Marin?ák and the drummer Stanislav Cvanciger, has an extraordinary talent for writing beautiful melodies with an Eastern European flair – and creates compositions with an international sound. Neither as an ordinary trio with a leader, nor exclusively in trio formation, they contribute to a homogeneous chamber jazz sound as equal band members. The trio has already worked with numerous high-profile guests such as Philip Catherine, Bill Evans, Mark Whitfield or Ulf Wakenius.
For their unique compositions they were awarded the Radio_Head Award for the best jazz Album of 2013 and for their last album with the Band Of Stano Baláž they were awarded the Audience Award for the best CD of the year 2017 at the Esprit competition. After six released studio albums, the AMC trio presents “Following The Light”, including features by Randy Brecker and Ada Rovatti, an album on which they once again manage to incorporate their own experiences, which give them an unmistakable sound. They know how to tell musical stories and arouse real emotions. The soulful album thrives on variations and themes inspired by nature, literature or spirituality, and impresses with the unique sound of the trio.
