Yaara Tal releases her new solo album “Tracing Bach” on 20.08.2021 on Sony Classical!
On her album, the pianist presents preludes from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, supplemented with fugues by a wide variety of composers.

Yaara Tal writes about it:

So I have discovered many interesting and even fascinating works (for me) that use the laws of the “fugue” as a form of composition. This is music from about 225 years, that is, from the earlier classical period to the modern.
Of course, many composers introduced fugues with a prelude, but there are also many fugues without any accompaniment…
Out of a spontaneous inspiration, I wanted to see or hear how it would sound if such fugues were always preceded by a prelude by Bach – in the same key, of course: To my amazement, it almost always sounded quite natural, quite natural and unaffected.
Thus this CD presents ten pairs that I have put together: The preludes are all from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier and the fugues from the pens of various composers. Among the names are great masters such as F. Chopin or R. Schumann, but also names that are completely unexpected, such as Louis Ferdinand of Prussia or the painter Lyonel Feininger…
