The Reverberation Appreciation Society are proud to welcome The Dandy Warhols for the eleventh vinyl release in the Live at LEVITATION series. The release showcases the band’s appearance at the festival with their 2013 performance. These recordings are immortalized on beautiful RSD exclusive splatter vinyl. LEVITATION and the LIVE AT LEVITATION Vinyl Series The first Austin Psych Fest was held in March 2008, and expanded to a 3 day event the following year. The event quickly developed into an international destination for psychedelic rock fans, with lineups spanning the fringes of indie rock, from up-and-comers to vintage legends, and capped off with headline performances from co-founders The Black Angels, along with Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Thee Oh Sees (in various forms) and many more. LEVITATION helped spark a movement, inspiring the creation of similar events across the globe and a burgeoning psych scene that would soon ignite. The series captures key moments in psychedelic rock history, and live music in Austin, Texas, pressed on beautiful limited edition colorful vinyl pressings – each an eye popping visual representation of the music contained within. The artists and sets showcased on Live at LEVITATION have been chosen from over a decade of recordings at the world-renowned event, and document key artists in the scene performing for a crowd of their peers and fans who gather at LEVITATION annually from all over the world.

The cheekiest band in the land is back with ROCKMAKER, The Dandy Warhols’ 12th studio album. Produced and recorded by the band at their studio/funhouse The Odditorium in Portland, OR, ROCKMAKER sees the “Bohemian Like You” hitmakers celebrate their 30th year together with a sprinkle of glitter on their grime. Accompanied by guests Debbie Harry, Slash, and Pixies’ Frank Black, The Dandy Warhols wrangle paranoia, untangle anxious discontent, and lust after life while the dance grooves go deeper, heady drones get weirder, and riffage fit for bong rips hammers. ROCKMAKER is the Dandy’s clearest statement yet, at no sacrifice to their outré leanings. This is the sound of outsider alt-psych fixtures looking in as the walls come down.

While 13 might be unlucky to some, the Dandy Warhols embraced the inauspicious number on their first live album. Recorded in 2013 to celebrate the 13th anniversary of their third album, Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia Live at the Wonder finds the band re-creating its breakthrough album track for track. Although over a decade has passed since the album was originally released, this live set is dripping with the effortless cool of the original, offering fans a clear reminder of why these guys were the darlings of neo-psych both at home and abroad. The Dandys have claimed that they’ve tried to record live albums in the past, but Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia Live at the Wonder is the first one that’s really taken, and listening to it, it doesn’t take long to figure out why. This performance not only epitomizes the languid and stylish vibe the band puts out on its albums, but it shows that Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia was more than just a bit of studio magic. ~ Gregory Heaney
