Heaven & Earth, a band that released their debut album in 2000, will return in 2021 with their fifth studio album, the aptly titled “V”. Heaven & Earth’s line-up now includes Gianluca Petralia (vocals), Stuart Smith (guitars), Lynn Sorensen (bass), George Barabas (Hammond organ and keyboard), and Simon Wright (drums, percussion). They have become an international band with an Italian singer, a Hungary-based keyboardist, and two British transplants living in the U.S. amongst their ranks. These five incredible rock musicians have banded together to record this magnificent new album, “V”.

The drum and sax duo, Heaven, is the collaborative project of Danish saxophonist Henrik Pultz Melbye and Norwegian drummer Ole Mofjell. Heaven’s fast, highly energetic performances, combine influence from old and new-school free jazz, as the foundation for their innovative sound. Inspired by European improvisation, 60’s New York-loft-avant-garde and Ethiopian jazz, Heaven fearlessly ventures between rhythmic and melodic realms, to stretches of noise and non-idiomatic sounds.

Committed to discovery, Pultz Melbye and Mofjell reimagine the possibilities of the iconic drum/sax pairing, while acknowledging the legends of the past.

On September 21st the duo will release their debut album “IAPOE” on Clean Feed Records.

1973 Psych-Folk/Funk group Heaven & Earth release a digitally remastered edition of their album Refuge, featuring the gorgeous voices of Pat Gefell and Jo D. Andrews (and produced by Space Age percussionist/composer Dick Schory for his short-lived but influential Ovation Records imprint). At one time, this was an album completely unknown outside of Chicago, where the label was based; but these days, word gets around, and tracks like ‘Feel The Spirit’ and ‘Jenny’ have been making the rounds on the DJ circuit. No matter what your musical taste is, this release seems to have something special to offer. This is due in part to notable backing from veterans like bassist Phil Upchurch (Curtis Mayfield, Otis Rush, Stan Getz, Groove Holmes, and Cannonball Adderly), and space age pop maven Bobby Christian on drums and percussion. But primarily, the perfection that this album emanates is due to the clear voices and intelligent songs crafted by Gefell and Andrews.
