Black Clouds & Silver Linings is Dream Theater’s tenth studio album and was released in 2009. Their last album to feature drummer Mike Portnoy, it was produced by John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy and was mixed by Paul Northfield. The album’s themes center around disturbing or difficult personal experiences of John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy.
Black Clouds & Silver Linings did well on the charts, debuting at #6 on the Billboard 200, as well as #1 on the Billboard Top Internet Albums and #2 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums.
