10th album from Christophe Marguet! The French drummer releases “Echoes of Time” together with his quartet. Released as a CD on Melodie En Sous-Sol. For many years, French drummer Christophe Marguet has been releasing music together with Régis Huby, Manu Codja and Hélène Labarrière under the name Christophe Marguet Quartet. The new album “Echoes of Time” contains, as usual, percussion, string and electronic elements, but this time without any wind instruments in the orchestration. The 11 tracks reflect all the joys that Marguet has experienced with his quartet in recent years: many intense moments on stage, in the studio and on tour. Christophe Marguet’s compositions, as sophisticated as they are accessible, are perfectly accompanied by his smooth yet powerful drumming, which sounds so melodic it’s like hearing him sing. Born on May 14, 1965 in Paris, France, Marguet began playing drums as a child. In the 1980s, he performed with renowned artists such as Ted Curson and Barney Wilen, worked as a freelance accompanist and was a member of several bands, including the Emmanuel Sourdeix Trio and the Orchestre National De Jazz. He is best known for his collaboration with David Patrois and Christophe Wallemme.

More than an excellent drummer, Christophe Marguet is above all an excellent musician. A leading stimulator never dictator and charming composer, his records reaffirm the standing of his uncompromising jazz. Here, The Parisian is surrounded by three colleagues of the same calibre: double bassist Hélène Labarrière, trumpeter Yoann Loustalot and pianist Julien Touéry. A tight-knit quartet whose Happy name is not usurped. “The love of sound, sound materials, dance and melodies, classical music, rock, song, Everything that is part of our vocabulary today, and especially the desire to share with these moments stealth, these moments of joy, these happy hours, essential to our existence, motor and reason to be, to live and love. “Simple and sincere words that confirm that Marguet is clear, healthy and direct in the roadmap of this often lyrical album.
