This latest chapter in the musical explorations of composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Sangit features some remarkable guest female singers including Ladino superstar Yasmin Levy, Brazilian diva Mariene de Castro and Grammy Award winner Dobet Gnahore.
Sangit is an Israeli producer, percussionist, and songwriter who made his debut in 2020 with the album “Librar” on the popular American world music label CUMBANCHA. He was initially known as one of the pioneers of the Afrobeat scene in Israel, but as his career progressed, he began to interact with musicians from various cultural backgrounds, and eventually shifted towards pursuing “multinational music” based on an Africanized percussion sound. The music has changed. Today, he has created a unique world-mixed sound that blends not only Afrobeat, but also Afro-Cuban music, Moroccan gnawa, Ethiopian melodies, and elements of Caribbean music with jazz and funk.
