After the monumental integral dedicated to Mendelssohn, Roberto Prosseda concludes the complete cycle of Mozart’s solo piano works with non-equal tuning. Another great project that has received critical acclaim since the first album (Sonatas n. 1-6) released in April 2016.

Also for Late Piano Works Prosseda chose to record on a Fazioli F278 piano, at the Fazioli Concert Hall, tuned with the Vallotti temperament: a non-equal system, very widespread in Mozart’s time, which emphasizes the expressive differences between the keys. This particular tuning, very rarely used in the modern piano, makes Prosseda’s recording unique in Mozart’s piano discography.

“This album includes the main pieces by Mozart for piano that are not part of the Sonatas or Variations cycles, with the exclusion of those already recorded in my previous albums: the Sonata movements K.312 and K.400 and the two Fantasies K. 397 and K .475. I chose to crown my ten-year project of recording Mozart’s piano music with this recording, because I believe that the most visionary and experimental compositions are present here, which let us know the most private aspect of Mozart’s personality. Most of the pieces collected on this CD were composed in the last ten years of the composer’s life. Listened together, these Klavierstücke therefore restore the composite image of Mozart’s late poetics, which combines dramatic intensity and contrapuntal finesse, reaching peaks of very high inspiration, especially in the Rondo in A minor and in the Adagio in B minor which closes the CD ”.
