Night Music is the second album by Ukrainian pianist and composer Vitalii Kyianytsia. It consists of a twelve-part cycle with some musical references to classical piano cycles by Chopin, Schumann and other Romantic composers. The cycle should only be performed as a whole, without omissions or alterations, in an almost dark hall where the audience can immerse themselves in the special atmosphere of the piece while lying on the floor.
While some pieces follow a strict structure, others are more flexible in terms of form, harmony and rhythm. In general, the work balances between jazz and a classical- romantic language, creating an interesting and unique blend of these completely different musical ideas. Night Music is thus an attempt to combine and expand the two areas of his creative work: classical music and jazz.
