Angel Clare is the debut solo studio album by Art Garfunkel, released on September 11, 1973. It is his highest charting solo album, peaking at number 5 and contains his only Top 10 hit in the US, “All I Know” which peaked at number 9. It also contained two other Top 40 hits, “Traveling Boy” (#102 Bubbling under the Hot 100, #38 Adult Contemporary) and “I Shall Sing” (#38 Hot 100, #4 Adult Contemporary). It was produced by long-time Simon & Garfunkel producer Roy Halee, alongside Art Garfunkel. The title, Angel Clare, comes from the name of a character in Thomas Hardy’s novel, Tess of the d’Urbervilles.

This release includes unissued material, and a complete live session, never before released, recorded on acetate by Doug, of Albert and the Humphrey Lyttelton Band playing at an all night dive in London’s China Town in the 50s. The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on January 26, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, running from October 1, 2018 to August 31, 2019. Alicia Keys hosted the ceremony, having hosted the previous year’s ceremony as well.

Lizzo received the most nominations of any artist with eight, followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X with six each. Eilish and her brother Finneas received the most awards, with five wins each. Upon this, Eilish became the first artist to win the major four categories of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist in the same year since Christopher Cross in 1981.

Ten days prior to the ceremony, Recording Academy president Deborah Dugan was relieved of her duties as president and CEO and placed on administrative leave from the organization. Dugan sparked controversy by claiming that the Recording Academy engaged in corruption and favoritism. The ceremony was held on the same day as the death of basketball player Kobe Bryant, to which Keys and Boyz II Men dedicated their performance of “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” in his memory.
