Wolfgang Van Halen has announced a deluxe edition of his Mammoth WVH 2021 self-titled debut, and revealed that he’ll shortly be entering the studio to record a followup.

The deluxe version of Mammoth WVH, which arrives November 11, will feature Talk & Walk – a track previously only available on the Japanese edition of the album – as well as two never-before-heard songs: As Long As You’re Not You and Goodbye.

Naturally, Talk & Walk was uploaded to YouTube shortly after the release of the Japanese version of Mammoth WVH last year – and has been played live by the band on several occasions since – but for those who haven’t yet tracked it down, it’s a straightforward hard rock rager with massive electric guitar riffs and effortlessly catchy vocal hooks.

Mammoth WVH is the eponymous first solo effort from Wolfgang Van Halen, son of six-string legend Eddie Van Halen and the bassist for Van Halen for the last 14 years of their existence. Combining elements of metal, grunge, alternative, and hard rock, the 14-track LP includes the single “Distance,” which was written as a tribute to his late father, who passed away in 2020. – James Christopher Monger
