On April 20th 1992, Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon, the surviving members of Queen, took to the stage at Wembley Stadium for the start of one of the biggest events in rock history, which the band had organized to pay tribute to their former colleague the incomparable Freddie Mercury. Queen was joined by some of the greatest musical talent in the world to celebrate Freddie’s life and work and to increase public awareness of AIDS, the disease that had prematurely ended his life the previous year. As well as being great entertainment, the concert raised a huge and still growing sum of money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity formed at the time whose charter is the relief of suffering from AIDS throughout the world. Now for the first time both halves of the concert are being made available on SD-Blu-ray along with additional bonus material in this special edition release.

In the summer of 2010, AIX Records recorded 7 new projects using prototype Panasonic 3D video cameras. Our new 3D Music Album™ Sampler and Calibration Disc is a collection of one tune from each of the projects that we recorded during those sessions plus a bonus 3D video segment featuring 17 minutes of footage from around Southern California over an AIX track of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto and an introductory 3D video segment from AIX Records founder and chief engineer Mark Waldrep. There are also a complete collection of HD-Audio test tones that can be used to tune up your system.
Featured artists on this disc are Grammy®-winning 70’s artist Rita Coolidge, platinum country artist Mark Chestnutt, jazz/classical crossover flutist James Walker and Free Flight, 2010 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition winner The Old City String Quartet, pianist extraordinaire Bryan Pezzone, Ex-Wings fingerstyle guitarist Laurence Juber and a trio consisting of Juber, Kevin Axt and M.B Gordy.

Mike & The Mechanics were formed in 1985 by Mike Rutherford as a separate project to run alongside his work with Genesis. They released their eponymous debut album the same year featuring vocals from both Paul Carrack (Ace) and Paul Young (Sad Café) and had an immediate hit with Silent Running. This was followed by a string of further hit singles and albums including The Living Years, a US No.1 single that remains one of the most played songs of all time on FM radio. In 2004 the band reunited for the first time since the sad death of Paul Young in 2000. With Paul Carrack now handling all the lead vocals they went out on the road across Europe, culminating in this outstanding performance at London s Shepherds Bush Empire. The show contains all their greatest hits and is now presented on Blu-ray for the first time.
