This year BBC Two will have more hours of Glastonbury in peak time than ever before and will be the home of some fantastic music from the Pyramid Stage. On Friday BBC Two will bring viewers Glasto Friday On Two, an evening with Radiohead, broadcasting their full headline set as they mark 20 years since the release of OK Computer. On Saturday BBC Two will show the Foo Fighters’ first appearance at Worthy Farm since 1998. Fans will also be able to see Ed Sheeran’s only UK festival appearance this summer and his first time headlining Glastonbury.

Halsey is the alias of New York-based pop artist Ashley Frangipane. The New Jersey native took her moniker from a New York L train subway stop, and her adopted city plays a large role in both the sound and lyrics of her dark, gritty electro-pop, which has been compared to acts like Chvrches and Lorde. Based on the strength of her first single “Ghost,” she signed a deal with Capitol-owned electronic/dance label Astralwerks in early 2014. Her debut EP, Room 93, arrived in October of that same year. In 2015, Halsey released her debut full-length album, Badlands, which featured production from Lido, the Futuristics, Son Lux, and others. Included on the album were the singles “Ghost,” “New Americana,” “Colors,” and “Castle,” a version of which also appeared on the soundtrack to The Huntsman: Winter’s War. Badlands debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and sold well, ultimately achieving gold certification status. In January 2017, Halsey returned with the single “Not Afraid Anymore,” which was featured on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack. Three months later, she released “Now or Never,” the first single from her sophomore album, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. Containing collaborations with Sia, Greg Kurstin, and Benny Blanco, the LP appeared in June 2017 and topped the Billboard 200.

The Pretenders has been reformed several times over the last 39 years – but always around singer and guitarist Chrissie Hynde.
Born in Ohio, she worked with Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood in London in the 1970s before forming the rock band in 1978.
The Pretenders have released 10 albums and 33 singles, with top 20 UK tracks including Brass in Pocket, Talk of the Town, I Go to Sleep, Don’t Get Me Wrong, and I’ll Stand by You.
After a period of solo work for Hynde, the band came out of hibernation in 2016 for an album, and toured with Stevie Nicks. They are touring Europe and the UK later this year.

This documentary explores the beginnings of the Beach Boys and preparations for their acclaimed 11th studio album, Pet Sounds. Brian Wilson, the brains behind The Beach Boys, had quit touring about a year before in order to concentrate on writing and recording in the studio. The documentary features archive footage and exclusive interviews, looking at the relationships in the band at the time and the creative process behind what many consider to be one of the most influential albums of the ‘60s.
Brian worked in the studio while the rest of the boys were out touring, and he created multi-layered compositions with painstaking attention to details, utilizing orchestration, sound effects and unusual instruments. The band then returned from touring and added their trademarked complex vocal harmonies, with several singing falsetto. The band was highly affected by The Beatles’ Rubber Soul album (as I and others were) and this one is universally regarded as one of the finest albums from the pop world of the ‘60s and therefore merits its place in this Classic Albums series. Available on 2CD/DVD, Blu-Ray, and MP3 (audio only) the album was recorded during a special show on September 21st, 2013 during the Sounds of the Ages Festival at the magnificent Second Century Roman Theater in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. On some of the songs during the band’s set, Original Asia was joined by The Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Levon Manukian.
The show was then aired on Bulgarian National TV the following December 30th, 2013 and it is now presented in its entirety to the fans as a powerful witness of the line-up featuring original members John Wetton, Carl Palmer, Geoff Downes along with Sam Coulson on guitar.
Says John Wetton: “The show in the glorious Roman Theater of Plovdiv, with orchestra, along with the massive Sweden Rock Festival and the shows in the UK and the show European tour thereafter, were the first dates of the new chapter of ASIA—and in my opinion, the band has never sounded better.”

To imagine a metal world without Norway´s legendary DIMMU BORGIR, seems quite unfathomable. Founded in 1993 by Shagrath, Silenoz and Tjodalv, the Oslo trio infernale quickly gained momentum in the underground scene with their debut EP »Inn I Evighetens Mørke«. The band released two albums, »For All Tid« (1994) and »Stormblåst« (1996) before they signed to Nuclear Blast and released »Enthrone Darkness Triumphant« (1997). This was a major step forwards for the band, and an album that helped change the way the world acknowledged extreme metal in a massive way.
DIMMU BORGIR might have started as a pitch-black pioneer of the Norwegian black metal scene, but quickly evolved into a hybrid of a beast, incorporating symphonic elements and other musical influences where few other bands dared to wander.
The band evolved, both musically and lineup-wise, over the years, and DIMMU BORGIR increased their status as a massive audience-draw with classic albums like »Spiritual Black Dimensions« (1999), »Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia« (2001) and »Death Cult Armageddon« (2003). The band has headlined tours and performed on big festivals worldwide, and toured together with non-typical peers as KORN, DEVILDRIVER and JUDAS PRIEST, to mention a few.
After a re-recording of the classic »Stormblåst« album in 2005, entitled »Stormblåst MMV«, and the critically acclaimed »In Sorte Diaboli« (2007) and »Abrahadabra« (2010), both albums that were musically challenging both the band and their audience, DIMMU BORGIR topped it all with a sold-out performance in their hometown of Oslo, performing with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a full scale choir.
The band has been on a hiatus for some years, but last year, they announced that the cooperation with Nuclear Blast Records was extended, and the first release in 2017 will be the highly anticipated DVD of this magnificent show, »Forces Of The Northern Night«.
This DVD does not only contain the entire show of Oslo that the band performed together with Kringkastingsorkestret (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and Choir), but also their bombastic performance at Wacken Open Air with the National Czech Symphonic Orchestra and an in-depth documentary with behind-the-scenes footage of the massive stage production in Norway. Prepare for three hours of raging symphonic black metal with almost 100 people on stage, songs from different band eras and unique visuals – a ritual as only DIMMU BORGIR could perform.
