British countertenor Alexander Chance (b. 1992) was named the winner of the 2022 International Handel Singing Competition (including the audience prize!). Drop not, mine eyes is a touching program of English lute songs full of melancholic warmth by Dowland, Campion, Danyel, Purcell and others. Toby Carr provides sensitive accompaniment on lute and theorbo.
