With his album ”Mozart”, the oboist Albrecht Mayer has once again demonstrated the right flair for a unique album program: “excellently done”, says Rondo. And Crescendo writes: ”Mayer’s interpretation […] proves a deep understanding of Mozart’s music”. Thus, the album made it to #7 on the German pop charts and led the German classical charts for 2 months in a row.

After this great success, Albrecht Mayer now presents an extended edition of this album as a 2 CD digipack. Recorded with the pianist Fabian Müller, this edition contains 5 new works arranged for oboe and piano. Among them are the world-famous arias “This portrait is enchantingly beautiful” and “Hell’s Revenge boils in my heart” from Mozart’s Magic Flute, as well as “Tortures of all kinds” from the Abduction from the seraglio. The bonus program is rounded off with the “Gran Adagio” arranged for oboe, violin, cello and orchestra after the adagio from the Gran Partita KV 361. Combined with the previous Mozart album, Mayer presents a harmonious deluxe edition, with which he manages to expand the musical world of Mozart.
