Kate Bush is reissuing her entire studio catalog – including numerous rare tracks, B-sides and cover versions – on a series of remastered vinyl and CD box sets. The campaign launches November 16th with the first two of four vinyl packages and the first of two CD sets, via Rhino. The second wave of material arrives November 30th.
The art-rock icon personally remastered the material with producer/engineer James Guthrie, who previously worked on Bush’s 1985 LP, Hounds of Love. The singer’s 10 albums are spread across the three vinyl boxes, and the fourth features rarities previously unavailable on the format. Many of the records have been unavailable on vinyl for decades.

Proving that the English admired Kate Bush’s work, 1978’s Lionheart album managed to reach the number six spot in her homeland while failing to make a substantial impact in North America. The single “Hammer Horror” went to number 44 on the U.K. singles chart, but the remaining tracks from the album spin, leap, and pirouette with Bush’s vocal dramatics, most of them dissipating into a mist rather than hovering around long enough to be memorable. Her fairytale essence wraps itself around tracks like “In Search of Peter Pan,” “Kashka From Baghdad,” and “Oh England My Lionheart,” but unravels before any substance can be heard. “Wow” does the best job at expressing her voice as it waves and flutters through the chorus, with a melody that shimmers in a peculiar but compatible manner. Some of the tracks, such as “Coffee Homeground” or “In the Warm Room,” bask in their own subtle obscurity, a trait that Bush improved upon later in her career but couldn’t secure on this album. Lionheart acts as a gauge more than a complete album, as Bush is trying to see how many different ways she can sound vocally colorful, even enigmatic, rather than focus on her material’s content and fluidity. Hearing Lionheart after listening to Never for Ever or The Dreaming album, it’s apparent how quickly Bush had progressed both vocally and in her writing in such a short time.

Director’s Cut is the ninth studio album by English singer and songwriter Kate Bush that she released in May 2011. On Directors Cut Kate revisits a selection of tracks from her albums The Sensual World and The Red Shoes.
Kate has re-recorded some elements whilst keeping the best musical performances of each song – making it something of a director’s cut but in sound, not vision.
All the lead vocals and drums on DIRECTORS CUT are new performances, some of the tracks featuring guests including Steve Gadd, Danny Thompson and, on backing vocals, Mica Paris. Three songs have been completely re-recorded, one of which is “This Womans Work.”

In September 2013 Katatonia returned with Dethroned & Uncrowned released through Pledge Music and in partnership with Kscope, Peaceville’s sister label. Dethroned & Uncrowned, a reworking of 2012’s Dead End Kings, allowed the band to explore a more progressive sound, creating new moods and textures while still staying truthful to the core of the songs.
In May 2014 Katatonia will take their ‘Unplugged & Reworked’ set-up on the road for the first time, presenting an intimate evening with the band each night performing tracks from Dethroned & Uncrowned alongside atmospheric classics from their entire career, stripped and reworked.
Guitarist and founding member Anders Nyström comments: “Many people who appreciated how we “dethroned” and “uncrowned” last year’s ‘Dead End Kings’ album have been hoping and even insisting the same would also be done to one or more of our older albums. Svante Henryson, the Swedish cellist, composer, double bass and electric bass guitar player, has been awarded the Nordic Council Music Award of some 50’000 Dollars in a ceremony on Iceland. Starting as a double-bass player in the Oslo Phil, he continued as a rock musician in one of Sweden’s more famous hard rock bands, while at all times exploring the classical cello in his own imaginative way, fusing the classical with impulses from other genres.
I have deeply admired him for many years, but only when hearing him and his singing wife Katarina (of Real Group fame) at a private party, had the chance to really approach them with a recording idea. This materialized and the SACD was recentky released.
