Ce deuxième album de Michel Robichaud, gagnant du 46e Festival international de la chanson de Granby, s’intitule Tout refaire. Pourtant, ainsi qu’il l’expliquait au microphone de Monique Giroux, la pièce titre ne parle pas de tout refaire, mais plutôt de faire les choses différemment, pour déjouer la routine. Cela peut s’exprimer dans les petits détails simples et aussi banals que de changer de côté dans le lit. C’est sur ses autres pièces folk que l’auteur-compositeur-interprète constate et chante, sans jamais devenir moralisateur, les dérives sociales.

Jean-François Paillard leads his chamber orchestra alongside Oboe and Recorder player Michel Piguet in this legacy presentation of works from German Baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann.
The chamber orchestra of Paillard is perhaps best known from their 1968 recording of Pachelbel’s “Canon”, which nearly single-handedly brought the piece from obscurity into great renown.
The ensemble has made recordings of much of the Baroque repertoire for Erato Records and has toured throughout Europe and the United States. It has also recorded with many leading French instrumentalists, including Maurice André, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Pierre Pierlot, Lily Laskine.

A guitar player from the age of 11, Montreal-native Michel Pagliaro joined his first band, Les Stringmen, when he was age 15. After playing with Les Bluebirds and Les Merseys, he formed Les Chancelliers and had a hit with “Le P’tit Poppy” in 1966. Pagliaro left the band for a solo career that same year; in 1970, he began recording in English when he signed with Much Records. Though several English singles were released in the early ’70s, his “Je’entends frapper” became the biggest-selling hit in Quebec history. Pagliaro recorded in both languages throughout the late ’70s and ’80s but, in the recent past, has only used French. His albums include Pag (1972), Pagliaro I (1976), Time Race (1977), Avant (1987) and Sous Peine D’Amour (1988).

With this recording, Swiss harpsichordist Michel Kiener presents his interpretation of the Goldberg Variations, one of Bach’s absolute masterpieces. completed both his piano and harpsichord studies at the Geneva Conservatoire, where he won the prize of virtuosity in both disciplines. He perfected his art with Gustav Leonhardt in Amsterdam and was laureate of the Bruges International Harpsichord Competition. Due to his versatility and his passion for chamber music, Kiener has performed with many outstanding artists such as Christophe Coin, the Kuijken brothers, Ryo Terakado and singers such as Marta Almajano and Jennifer Smith. As a soloist he performed with the ensembles Il Giardino Armonico and Il Gardellino.
