Sting and Paul McCartney have shown the way: it can produce fantastic results to play bass, sing and lead a band at the same time playing bass, singing and leading a band at the same time. Ellen Andrea Wang also possesses these talents and yet is a special in the pop business.

The young Norwegian, who turned 30 years old in October 2016 with her crystal-clear voice could have had an international career as a jazz singer alone could have embarked on an international career as a jazz singer alone.

With Blank Out, Ellen Andrea Wang is now releasing her second album second album. The themes are diverse, ranging from political Commentaries on personal regrets to good-humored pop songs Pop songs. Ellen Andrea Wang also picks up on this diversity in also in the sound, with jazzy, RnB aesthetics of recent years and of the last few years and floating synths alongside the Singer-songwriter sound of the 80s.

The singer is accompanied by Erlend Dahlen, who plays drums and percussion on Drummer and percussionist specializing in electronica/jazz/experimental jazz/experimental, and pianist Andreas Ulvo, who has played plays in Mathias Eick’s band.

The songs of the Ellen Andrea Wang Trio with their grooves lead straight to the dance floor. And yet they breathe the sensitivity of an acoustic jazz trio.
