Gregory Alan Jones is the singer guitarist for the bands known as Tinkers Mash and Happy Minute. He began playing violin at age five and comes from a musical family. Greg has played with a variety of hard-rockin’ bands, bluegrass, jazz, popular, and original music bands. He toured with world renown Tempest from 2010 through 2015. His commitment to rock and pop culture has been unwavering across the years. He began enjoying the humorous side of music once he discovered Weird Al Yankovic, and began a house band for a comedy club. Greg sings with a clear rock voice that can range from the 80s metal screamers to the smooth jazz sound. He enjoys writing songs that can be enjoyed by a variety of different ways. For those who just want to dance, listen close to the lyrics, hear a few guitar solos, launch into parody, sing along to a memorable song, he attempts to cover all the needs. The Beyond 2020 by Gregory Alan Jones and the Tinkers Mash debut were born in the studio, songs performed live to Facebook, and songs inspired by the Covid 19 pandemic. Greg also has many years of music teaching experience. He has taught; Guitar, Bass, Violin, Cello, Mandolin, Ukulele, Harmonica, Drums, and Voice.

Dan Del Santo may very well be the greatest musician you’ve never heard of. He was a true staple of the Austin local music scene in his time, but without proper distribution to take his music further, and a career brought to a screeching halt from having to flee the country during the war on drugs in 1990, he faded into relative obscurity. Utopia Unearthed is working with Dan’s family and friends to resurrect his music, as well as document his life and career.

First recording of Jan Ladislav Dussek’s string quartets with the Camesina Quartet: they lay unnoticed in libraries for 200 years, but now the Camesina Quartet has rediscovered them and recorded them for the Musikmanufaktur Berlin label. Dussek composed these string quartets in 1806, shortly before his friend and employer, Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, was killed in battle at Saalfeld. “They are the best that I have written, and neither in the style of Mozart, Haydn nor Pleyel, but in the style of Dussek, and I think that they will attract some attention in the musical world. I want them to be dedicated to His Royal Highness, Prince Louis of Prussia, with whom I am currently with the army against the French,” Dussek wrote to his publisher a few days before the prince’s death. The quartets are indeed in Dussek’s very own style, which is somewhere between classical and romantic and in many ways far ahead of its time. The roots of Mendelssohn’s Berlin Romanticism can already be found here, as well as a rich harmony that hints at Schumann and Brahms. The quartets are likely to be an important discovery for the string quartet repertoire. The recording was preceded by painstaking editorial work by the Camesina Quartet in order to produce an error-free musical text from the available sources.

Only a relatively small proportion of Haydn’s works are present in today’s concert repertoire. While every compositional exercise by other composers, no matter how insignificant, has been catalogued, it is extremely difficult to get an overview of the enormous oeuvre of the father of Viennese classical music. Haydn’s long life certainly plays a role in this: born in the High Baroque period, he experienced the zenith of the Classical period and still touched on the beginnings of Romanticism in his old age. The scoring with two violins instead of the more usual violin and viola has certainly also contributed to the fact that a chamber music collection that is particularly attractive in many respects has remained almost completely unknown until now.
