By the time Miles Davis recorded „The Musings Of Miles“ on June 7, 1955, he’d expanded and refined his approach to the bop idiom which had nurtured him, and the cool approach–which he’d championed. He learned to refine and edit his line, discovered what aspects of his style were derivative and which were truly his own, and, most importantly, zeroed in on his own signature sound and style of phrasing.

“Inception” is McCoy Tyner’s debut album, released on Impulse! in 1962. His trio members on this session are Art Davis on bass and Elvin Jones on drums, all three working outside the confines of John Coltrane’s quartet. Four of the six songs on this recording are Tyner originals; Effendi, the lovely ballad Sunset and the title tune have all been called “standout pieces” by JazzTimes.com.

Alltime favorite vocal jazz and by far Mark Murphy‘s best album. Contains “Sconsolato” & “Why and how”. Mark Murphy turns 80 years young this year. He is famous for his soaring instrument and his distinctive vocal improvisations, with melody and lyrics.

He was a recipient of the Down Beat magazine readers jazz poll for Best Male Vocalist in 1996, 1997, 2000, and 2001. Notably Mark has received six Grammy nominations for Best Vocal Jazz Performance. Among his best known nominated recordings are “Stolen Moments” – Muse Records, “September Ballads” – Milestone Records and “Song for the Geese” – RCA Records.

Mark’s original lyrics to Oliver Nelson’s, “Stolen Moments” and Freddie Hubbards’ standard, “Red Clay” live on through vocal jazz programs all over the world today. From “Meet Mark Murphy” (1956) to the 2010 recording titled, “Never Let Me Go”, Murphy continues attracting audiences and fans around the world.

Even from the globalized world’s point of view in the year 2017: whenever you listen to recordings J.E.Berendt initiated in the ’60s you are completely amazed about his visionary character. This is THE landmark album which showcases his explorations. Mani Neumeier, the incomparable drum wizard of Guru Guru fame, convinced Berendt to get the Jazz meets India idea into shape by engaging the Irène Schweizer Trio (which also featured bassist Uli Trepte) and calling in an Indian trio, with sitar player Dewan Motihar, responsible for arousing the Beatles’ interest in India. LeGrand Mellon is an American actress who guested as ‘Miranda’ in the mid-60s TV show, the spy/western hybrid The Wild Wild West starring Robert Conrad and Ross Martin. The final recording by legendary jazz fusion pioneers Larry Coryell and Alphonse Mouton in the reformed the Eleventh House in their all new album Seven Secrets. The late guitarist Coryell assembled founding members Randy Brecker (trumpet), long-timer John Lee (bass), the addition of son Julian (guitar) and the late Alphonse Mouzon (drums) to bring the rock and funk back to jazz again with a batch of eleven powerhouse tracks. The album is truly a group effort with Coryell relying on each member to contribute compositions to the new album, like he did back in the 70s.

The Eleventh House was an important jazz fusion group of the 1970s, led by the guitarist Larry Coryell. The band was formed in 1973 and disbanded in 1976. The Eleventh House, alongside bands such as The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report and Return to Forever, is considered as one of the pioneering jazz rock bands of the mid-1970s.

Joe Feeney was an American tenor singer who was a member of The Lawrence Welk Show television program. From 1957 to 1982, when the Welk show ended production, Feeney was the program’s featured Irish tenor. Among his selection of musical numbers that were popular with the Welk audience were Danny Boy, Galway Bay, Sweet Leilani and the Mario Lanza classic “Be My Love”. He also has the distinction of singing for five US Presidents and performed at Carnegie Hall three times; in 1975 he sang for Pope Paul VI at the canonization of Mother Seton, the first native-born American saint.
