Just barely 20 at the time, pianist George Duke made his recording debut with a straight-ahead quartet also including the obscure bass trumpeter David Simmons, bassist John Heard and drummer George Walker. This was one of Duke’s very few all-standards sets, and he proved to be a fine hard bop/soul-jazz pianist; unfortunately, that phase would not last long. Highlights include “The Night Has a Thousand Eyes,” “Jeannine” and “Secret Love.” But by the time the pianist recorded his second date as a leader three years later, this particular George Duke would be history.

A mix of fourteen rare acoustic and electric tracks from the late country-rock pioneer, and member of legendary bands The Byrds and Kentucky Colonels. The set includes tracks recorded both at the beginning and at the peak of his career, showcasing his critically acclaimed flat-picking guitar style. Features guest players such as Eric Weissberg, the Byrds’ Roger McGuinn, Gene Parsons, and Skip Battin, the Flying Burrito Brothers’ Byron Berline, and a rare rehearsal performance with the Everly Brothers with Gram Parsons on rhythm guitar.
White said of his guitar technique, “I always maintain that I’m an electric country guitarist working in rock, rather than a rock n’ roll guitarist like, say, Clapton or Beck, who came up through blues”
He may be best known as the second-longest member of The Byrds and leader of the Kentucky Colonels, but White also left his mark as a pioneer of country rock and his flat-picking guitar stylings; his ability to cross between acoustic and electric made him unique.
His session work included recordings with Linda Ronstadt, Joe Cocker, Randy Newman, Rick Nelson, Pat Boone, The Monkees, Arlo Guthrie, and Jackson Browne, among others.

After years of touring and recording for other artists, Chris Combs brings his trio into the studio and comes out swinging with a collection of exciting new compositions. The forthcoming EP, Run Down The Ghost, was primarily recorded live in one day at The Closet Studios in Tulsa, OK and showcases the trio’s reputation for beautiful tunes and searing improvisations. Additional overdubs from pedal steel guitarist Hank Early (Turnpike Troubadours) and vibraphonist Nick Mancini complete the EP’s evolving sonic palate – creating a modern, diverse, jazz-influenced romp through Combs’ original works. Though truly modern in its aesthetic, Run Down The Ghost harkens back to the classic album-centric jazz, rock, and psychedelia releases of days gone by. The listener can hear influences spanning genre and era including J Dilla, Bill Frisell, Tortoise, Sly & the Family Stone, Blake Mills, Frank Ocean, and Ornette Coleman.

Ivor Novello award winning duo Joe Henson and Alexis Smith began collaborating in 2005 when they co-produced an album for Joe’s band Seventhsun. After realising they had a similar approach to life and wildly divergent musical tastes, they formed a creative partnership that quickly encompassed songwriting, production, and composition. The duo have worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry as well as being A-list composers for video games. 2014 saw the release of hit survival horror title Alien: Isolation, and they followed this up with 2017’s Horizon: Zero Dawn, the Playstation 4’s biggest selling new IP to date. They are currently composing the score for Ubisoft Québec’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The Flight’s television projects include the BAFTA nominated BBC documentary series Drugsland, and Kids on the Edge, produced for Channel 4 by Century Films.

THE END MACHINE are back with their sophomore album, “Phase2,” which follows on the heels of their well-received and successful self-titled debut album released in 2018. The End Machine features former classic lineup Dokken members George Lynch and Jeff Pilson with the awesome singer Robert Mason (Warrant, Lynch Mob) on lead vocals. Classic Dokken drummer Mick Brown handled drums on the first album, but is now retired, so in his place behind the drum kit is none other than his brother Steve Brown.
The new record builds on the great bluesy hard rock music of the debut, but sees the band move more towards the classic Dokken sound and the result is a 2.0 reboot of a killer music machine!
