“Hurts To Be Alone” appears on Jones’ seventh solo studio album Pick Me Up Off The Floor, which will be released in an expanded 30-track digital Deluxe Edition on October 16 featuring 17 at-home performances culled from her much-loved weekly livestreams. The Deluxe Edition will include live versions of Norah’s previously unreleased original song “Light Wind Blowing” along with songs from the new album, favorites from her back catalog, jazz standards (“How Deep Is The Ocean”), covers of Guns N’ Roses (“Patience”) and Kris Kristofferson (“For The Good Times”), and tributes to John Prine (“That’s The Way The World Goes Round”) and her father Ravi Shankar (“I Am Missing You”). Norah Jones has announced the release of her first-ever holiday album, I Dream Of Christmas, which will arrive this October.

The nine-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and pianist has recorded a collection of covers of seasonal classics alongside her own original Christmas-themed songs. The covers featured on the album include “White Christmas”, “Winter Wonderland,” and “Run Rudolph Run.”

I Dream Of Christmas will be released on October 15 via Blue Note Records and will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital download. The first track from the record, “Christmas Calling (Jolly Jones)” is available to stream and download now.

During 2018, Norah Jones concentrated her creative endeavors on a series of digital singles that found the singer/songwriter stretching herself stylistically. Usually, she pushed herself by teaming with new, unexpected collaborators, including Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy – a tactic that guaranteed a variety of sounds and songs, a practice put into sharp relief by the 2019 release of Begin Again. This brief LP collects the seven songs recorded for this project – all but one released beforehand – and while they’re a disparate batch, they nevertheless cohere thanks to their elegant, elastic experimentation. Jones plays with presentation more than form – arrangements run from the spooky austerity of “A Song with No Name” to “Uh Oh,” an effervescent number that’s deceptively dense – but that’s enough to give Begin Again an elusive charm. Every track seems to hint at a grander version than what was delivered, but the loose ends and modest scale are alluring, since they appear to offer an insight into how this fiercely imaginative, quietly fearless singer/songwriter challenges herself. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

The 14 songs featured on ‘Til We Meet Again span Jones’ entire career to date from her 2002 debut ‘Come Away With Me’ (‘Don’t Know Why’, ‘I’ve Got to See You Again’, ‘Cold, Cold Heart’), 2004’s ‘Feels Like Home’ (‘Sunrise’, ‘Those Sweet Words’), 2012’s ‘Little Broken Hearts’ (‘After the Fall’), 2016’s ‘Day Breaks’ (‘Flipside’, ‘Tragedy’), as well as her more recent singles series (‘It Was You’, ‘Begin Again’, ‘Just a Little Bit’, ‘Falling’ and the Grammy-nominated ‘I’ll Be Gone’). The album closes with Jones’ stunning solo piano performance of Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’, a tribute to Chris Cornell that was recorded at the Fox Theatre in Detroit just days after Cornell’s death following a performance at the same venue.
