Adding to her lovingly-long list of Brazilian repertoire and recordings, five-time Grammy Nominee Karrin Allyson embarks on yet another inspired Brazilian adventure, this time including a very special pairing with the legendary singer, composer and guitarist Rosa Passos. Long admiring each other’s work, this vocal match made in heaven features Ms. Passos on two songs with Karrin – her own composition “Dunas” (with new English lyrics penned by Karrin) and the classic Vinicius de Moraes’ song, “O Grande Amor.” Karrin and her stellar band of Brazilian instrumentalists – Rafael Barata on drums and Vitor Goncalves on piano & accordion, along with guitarist Yotam Silberstein and bassist Harvie S – unfurl gorgeous classics such as “So Many Stars,” “The Island,” “Manha de Carnaval,” “Flor de Lis,” “Wave,” and “Only Trust Your Heart,” in a luxuriously grooving, sonic love letter to Brazil.

Be honest: what associations do the words ‘rock n roll’ and ‘rock musician’ usually trigger? For most of us, the first thing that comes to mind is certainly the image of the easy-going man in his mid-fifties, covered in tattoos, living somewhere in the middle of Los Angeles, for whom the music business means that he takes care of girls and alcohol, while his management takes care of everything else. An image that contains a crucial flaw: real rock n roll is not a cliché designed in the 80s, but a timeless and, above all, genuine attitude to life. And five musicians, of all people, who are just half the age of the cliché image and live just over 9,500 kilometers away from Los Angeles, prove this to us. KISSIN’ DYNAMITE from southern Germany have been in the music business for eleven years and are releasing their new studio album entitled ‘Ecstasy’ this summer. It is a pure homage to that very attitude to life that is called rock ‘n roll. Pure, unadulterated and unadorned, ‘Ecstasy’ sums up the feeling you get when you tour across Europe, Japan and the Ukraine for several months like the five Swabians, when you spend the night at airports and in the backstage of clubs for lack of an alternative and when you are confronted with real life as a rock musician far away from any glittering LA dream cinemas.

It all goes back to year 1965. Spencer Davis Group was recording a single for the label Phillips Germany after having released its number one hit “Keep on Running”. Alongside the guitarist and a former German teacher Spencer Davis, Steve Winwood and his older brother Muff also the upcoming drummer Pete York was a member of the band. The producer of the session was Siggi Loch. “We’ve been friends ever since”, Pete York, who turned 70 in August, reminisces. “Maybe it is Siggi’s birthday present that I got the chance to release this album on ACT”.

Psychedelic music born from jams with a lush groove of drums and percussion, a dense foundation of keys and bass, and flute and guitar soaring above them. The septet from Moscow experiments with genres, entering the territory of prog rock, blues rock, stoner and funk.
